Megadeth and Slayer headline Canadian Carnage tour

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

To all the metal-heads: Megadeth and Slayer are embarking on a short Canadian tour, beginning on June 24th at GM place in Vancouver! The Canadian Carnage Tour is an exclusive four-show trip that will play in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Winnipeg; the entire schedule lasting less than a week! Not only are these two major metal bands headlining, but they are also accompanied by Machine Head and Suicide Silence! Both the Megadeth Fanclub and Ticketmaster presales have already begun, so your chances of scoring tickets officially begin on May 2nd at 10AM.

Megadeth have been rocking the world since lead singer and guitarist Dave Mustaine formed the band in 1983, and since then have acheived unimaginable success, selling close to twenty million albums worldwide, and headlining countless cross-country and world tours, garnering them the status of true metal legends by music aficionados. The opportunity to see Megadeth alongside Slayer, another big name in the metal world, will be an incredible experience, improved upon only by the abilites of Machine Head (who have been in the rock world since 1992) and the younger upstarts, Suicide Silence, who released their first full length album in 2007).

Snow Patrol coming to North America, opening for Coldplay

Monday, April 27th, 2009

It was just recently announced that Snow Patrol would be making their way to North America, taking a break from their European tour, to open for Coldplay throughout most of their June leg of the summer tour, beginning in Indianapolis on June 5th. This comes as big news to Snow Patrol fans who have been wanting a chance to see the band live — Snow Patrol has been touring across Europe as of late and would not have returned to North America until September 12th, where they currently have seven shows lined up for the fall.

Many fans have expressed a lot of excitement in the wake of this news, even going so far as to say they are looking forward to the opening act more than they are to Coldplay. If that is the case, fans better act fast as Coldplay tickets have been on sale for over a month, and a band of that magnitude will surely sell out, if they haven’t already. Coldplay finishes their first leg of the North American tour in Vancouver, with two shows in GM Place on June 20th and 21st, which also happen to be the closing dates for Snow Patrol as the opening act.

Kings of Leon World Tour underway!

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Following their amazing sold-out performance at the Madison Square Garden in New York, Kings of Leon are currently touring the United States to promote their newest album Only By The Night from which their lead single “Sex On Fire” has lit up the Billboard “Modern Rock” chart for nine weeks and counting. Once finished with their current North American leg of the tour, they will head over to Europe and play in a number of shows in the UK, Germany, Scotland and others, before returning back to North America.

Response has been huge in Vancouver when the Kings of Leon tickets officially went on sale today; they will be playing on August 15th at GM Place to a soon-to-be sold out crowd.

Plenty of their shows are sold out, although most of the dates still have tickets available. However, with a band as popular as these guys have gotten, that won’t last for long; after winning the 2009 Grammy for best rock performance by a group, their continued success has yet to show signs of slowing.
The tour — which has 45 stops left — will continue until September 14th when they play their last show in Uniondale, New York.
