Alan Jackson Brings Freight Train Tour to Canada

Country music’s Alan Jackson will be bringing his Freight Train Tour to Canada in February. The tour begins in Sudbury, ON on February 1st, and ends in Dawson Creek, BC on March 31st.

Jackson is touring in support of his newest studio album, Freight Train, which hit the shelves last spring. Jackson’s best-of album, 34 Number Ones, which includes a cover of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire,” was released in November.

Melissa Etheridge and Serena Ryder Tour Canada

Grammy award winning singer and songwriter, Melissa Etheridge will hit the road on a Canadian tour in 2011.

In support of her newest album, Fearless Love, Etheridge will begin her tour in Vancouver on February 18th. She will play fourteen cities before ending the trek in Toronto on March 11th.

Released earlier this year, Fearless Love is the tenth studio album from Etheridge. Over her twenty year career, Etheridge has established herself as a leading lady in the rock scene. Not only has she received numerous accolades, but also sold over twenty-five million albums worldwide.

Brian Wilson Re-imagines Gershwin

Iconic songwriter, Brian Wilson, is set to play his first cross-Canada tour next summer in support of his newest album, Brian Wilson Re-imagines Gershwin.

The tour gets started in Kitchener, ON on June 16. Wilson will perform two weeks in Canada, closing out the tour at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver on June 28.

Wilson gained fame for his time with the Beach Boys, but that isn’t where his musical pursuits ended. He has had continued success (more…)

Heart Tours Canada in 2011

Thirty-five years after Heart released their debut album, Dreamboat Annie, the band will return to the record’s birthplace on a coast to coast tour of Canada.

The tour kicks off on January 28th in St. John’s, and wraps up in Vancouver on February 26th, making eighteen cross-country stops in between.

Heart will be promoting their August release, Red Velvet Car, which reached the Billboard 200’s Top Ten driven by hit singles, “Hey You” (more…)

Toronto’s Our Lady Peace are making their way across Canada on a two-part concert tour, which began in March.
On separate nights, the band will be performing the albums, Clumsy and Spiritual Machines, in their entirety. The second half of each show will feature an array of songs from the group’s other records.
OLP are playing the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver tonight and tomorrow night. They will wrap their tour in St. John’s on August 2nd.

Simon and Garfunkel Announce North American Tour

The legendary duo, Simon and Garfunkel, have announced an exciting North American tour beginning in April, covering eight dates in Canada. Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel began collaborating in grade school, writing their first tunes together during the doo-wop era. They formed the band Tom and Jerry, and had a hit called “Hey, Schoolgirl” in 1957.

Little did they know that the harmonies they were crafting then would eventually carry them into the prolific sixties as frontrunners of the folk phenomenon.

Songs like “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Scarborough Fair,” “Mrs. Robinson,” and “Sounds of Silence” placed Simon and Garfunkel in the forefront of public consciousness, and brought success on a massive scale. (more…)
