Cross Canadian Ragweed is an alternative country band of the Red Dirt scene,
formed in Yukon, Oklahoma, in 1994. The band is comprised of Cody Canada (lead guitar),
Randy Ragsdale (drums), Grady Cross (rhythm guitar) and Jeremy Plato (bass).
The name Cross Canadian Ragweed is a combination of the original four band
members' last names (original bassist was Matt Wiedemann). The band frequently plays with up
and coming country music star Dierks
Bentley and "Texas Country" star Pat Green. In
October 2005, the band released their latest album Garage, which featured the single
"Fightin' For".

Cross Canadian Ragweed are well known for their constant touring with more than 200 shows per year. The group had already received significant college radio airplay before they released their first albums, Highway 377 and Live and Loud at the Wormy Dog, both in 2001. Cross Canadian Ragweed occasionally tours with Willie Nelson. With the release of a self-titled album in 2002, also known as the "Purple Album" due to its cover color, the band moved into the mainstream eye. Their 2004 offering Soul Gravy debuted at #4 on The Billboard charts. Their latest album is the 2005 release Garage.
