Gary Grice is GZA, otherwise known as The Genius. Founder of the well known Wu-Tang Clan hip-hop group, he has been called "one of the best lyricists of the 1990s" by Steve Huey (Allmusic). He released his debut, solo album titled Words From the Genius in 1991, but it was his second album, Liquid Swords, that placed him at No. 2 on the Billboard R&B chart. This album gained gold status and was only the beginning, since his following album, Beneath the Surface went to No. 1 on the same chart.
GZA's hit songs include "Liquid Swords," "Cold World" and "Fame," to name a few. Whether he is working solo or in collaboration with the Wu-Tang Clan and other artists, fans should take every opportunity to see GZA's natural talent firsthand.
