He was born in Detroit and began performing on the radio at the age of eight years old. He toured and performed with his father throughout his life. In 2004, he released his debut album, Blues with a Vengeance, which was nominated for a Grammy Award. His third album, All Odds Against Me was also nominated for this prestigious award.
