American singer/songwriter, actress and stand-up comedienne, Nell Marie McKay, has achieved fame for her albums and for her appearance in Threepenny Opera (Brecht & Weill) in '06, winning a Theatre World Award. She performs in various genres including jazz, rap disco and funk. Her debut album, "Get Away From Me" is the first case of a double-disc debut for a female performer, and made several "Best Of" lists for '04.
She was a hit at the SXSW Festivals, and wrote for the film, "Rumor Has It." Releasing "Pretty Little Head" on her own label, Hungry Mouse, a 44 page booklet is included. The third album of '09 is entitled "Obligatory Villagers," followed by a tribute to Doris Day, "Normal As Blueberry Pie." The fifth album is entitled "Home Sweet Mobile Home."
