Allman Brothers Tickets
A rock band based in Georgia and formed in Jacksonville, Florida, the Allman Brothers are said to be proponents of Southern Rock (a merged influence of country and blues). Formed by Duane Allman (slide, lead guitar) and Gregg Allman (vocals, organ, songwriter), the first breakthrough, "At Filmore East," was released in '71, and is considered by many to be the finest album ever made.
Duane was killed in a motorcycle accident soon after, but the band continued, reaching its peak success with "Brothers and Sisters" and the hit single, "Ramblin' Man." The band broke up in '76, reunited and disbanded again in '82. Since '89, they have toured with new members. All told, they have eleven golds and five platinums, and were inducted into the Hall of Fame in '95.
