B 52s Tickets

Vocalist Cindy Wilson, 19, and her elder brother Ricky, 23, organist/vocalist Kate Pierson, drum/percussion Keith Strickland and vocalist Fred Schneider formed B52s in Athens, Ga., 1976. The name comes from a hair-do resembling the nose of a plane. They cover many genres, and champion youth, wildness and romance.

Their first single, "Rock Lobster," was an underground success and led to events in New York. They signed with Warner Bros. in '79, and the single, "Rock Lobster," went platinum. "Wild Planet" went gold. At the death of Ricky Wilson at the age of 32, the band cancelled its tour and didn't reunite until '89. "Funplex" was released in '08 and went to #11. The band currently performs fifty to sixty events per year.
