Bitch began its groundbreaking heavy metal climb toward its cult following in 1981. The lead singer, Betsy "Bitch" Weiss, was one of the first females to front a heavy metal band in the United States. Their unique stage sets often included themes of sadomasochism and bondage while Betsy B adopted the image of a dominatrix. The band released their first full-length album, Be My Slave in 1983. Just as the Parent's Music Resource Center (PMRC) was formed by a collection of political activists seeking the rating of music was ramping up, Bitch was starting to gain traction in the world of heavy metal. Thanking the PMRC for their free publicity, the band continued to play live shows and promote their music.
Despite the fact that there have been periodic hiatuses in their music production, Bitch is back beginning by popular demand with a combined, re-mastered release of Be My Slave/Damnation Alley. They will tour throughout the US and internationally in celebration of their resurgence.
