Chip Davis Tickets
Born Louis F. Davis in Hamler, Ohio in 1947, the founder of Mannheim Steamroller toured with the Norman Luboff Choir as a student, learning the industry by scoring ads. His association with C.W. McCall was a breakthrough with the '75 hit, "Convoy." As a duo, they released five albums between '74 and '79.
Davis was ASCAP's Country Music Writer of the Year in '76. He had founded Mannheim Steamroller in '74 to showcase his fusion of pop and classical techniques. Their album, "Fresh Aire" was turned down by every label, so he founded American Gramophone and released eight "Fresh Aire" projects. He won a Grammy for Best of New Age in '90, and his Christmas album sold tens of millions.
