The visually and aurally unusual instrumental rock band from Texas, Explosions in the Sky was originally named Breaker Morant in '99. Featuring elaborate guitar playing, the band offers instrumentals they call "cathartic mini-symphonies." They are known for their energetic live shows.
The band's debut album, "How Strange, Innocence" was only distributed locally, but rehearsal footage from its production won an Austin Film Festival Award for its part in "Cicadas." "The Only Moment We Were Alone" can be heard in Michael Moore's "Capitalism: A Love Story."
