Mars Volta Tickets
Also known as MVT, Mars Volta is an American, Grammy-winning band from El Paso, formed in 2000 by Omar Rodriguez and vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala. Its influences include progressive rock, krautrock (late 60s German experimental music), jazz fusion and Latin. They are renowned for high energy shows and concept albums.
They won a Grammy in '09 ("Best Hard Rock Performance") for the song "Wax Simulacra." Rolling Stone named them the "Best Prog-Rock Band of '08." The name is taken from a Fellini book about his films. The debut album, "De-Loused in the Crematorium" remains their best-seller, followed by "Frances The Mute," "Amputechture" ('07) and "Octahedron." ('09)
