Formed in Olympia, Washington during 1999, Gossip is an indie rock band consisting of three members: Beth Ditto, Brace Paine and Hannah Blilie. Their debut album, That's Not What I Heard was released in 2001, but it was their 2006 release, Standing in the Way of Control, that shot them to No. 1 on the UK indie charts. Their unique mix of dance-punk and indie rock, as featured on their album Music for Men, has made them an international hit band with multi-gold sales in Germany, Platinum in Austria and Switzerland and multi-Platinum in France.
Gossip has developed its own niche in the indie rock world. Proof of this can be found in their 2010 nomination for the ECHO Award, an honor that they shared alongside Depeche Mode and U2. They continue to tour internationally with stops in locations such as Switzerland, Germany, Austria and the UK.
