The Countdown to 2011’s Heritage Classic

hockeyIn less than two weeks, the Heritage Classic will make its return to Canadian soil. It has been eight years since the Edmonton Oilers hosted the Montreal Canadiens in the first outdoor game in 2003.

Thousands will gather to see the Calgary Flames take on the Montreal Canadiens at McMahon Stadium in Calgary on February 20th. A lot could change between now and then as far as records are concerned. For now, the Flames and Canadiens are going into the Heritage Classic with records that qualify them for the playoffs.

Excitement Grows for Heritage Classic

heritage_classicThe buzz surrounds the 2011 Heritage Classic, whose return to Canada this winter has NHL fans eager to take part. Tickets went on sale last Friday for the upcoming outdoor event, set for February 20 at Calgary’s McMahon Stadium.

The Montreal Canadiens will face the Calgary Flames in the first game played in Canada since the Heritage Classic’s debut back in 2003. More than thirty thousand fans are expected to turn up for the highly anticipated event.

Heritage Classic Returns to Roots

classic_fixedThe Heritage Classic is returning to its roots, its Canadian routes.
On February 20th, 2011, the outdoor winter Heritage Classic will see the Montreal Canadians face the Calgary Flames at the Calgary football field McMahon Stadium before a crowd of 36,000 plus fans.
