The Bledisloe Cup is the ultimate symbol of Trans-Tasman rivalry between
Australia and New Zealand. Donated in 1931 by the Governor-General of New Zealand, Lord
Bledisloe, the Bledisloe Cup was first won by Australia in 1934. However, it wasn't until
the 1980's that Australia began to win the Cup on a more regular basis.
Competitions for the Bledisloe Cup have varied from one to three matches,
sometimes with three-or four-year gaps between series, but since 1982 both countries have
agreed to play at least one game for the Cup annually. The trophy for the Bledisloe
Cup is silver with a wooden base and weights 21.6 kilograms. See all of the action live at
the game and cheer on your country in person. Order your Bledisloe Cup Rugby
