The Drowsy Chaperone is the first Broadway show in a quarter of a century to be produced by Canadians. It was created as a bachelor party present for Bob Martin and his wife, Janet Van De Graaff.

It all begins when a die-hard musical-theater fan plays his favorite cast album on his turntable, and the musical literally bursts into life, telling the rambunctious tale of a brazen Broadway starlet trying to find, and keep, her true love.

The show features a stellar creative team led by Second City's Bob Martin, Don McKellar, Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison. The Drowsy Chaperone is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, who made his Broadway choreographing debut on the production of Spamalot.

The Drowsy Chaperone was nominated for thirteen Tony Awards in 2006 along with many other nominations for the Drama Critics Circle Awards, Outer Critics Circle Awards and Drama Desk Awards.
