Rise Against hit the road with Rancid

Rise Against is preparing to kick off their North American summer tour on June 4th, just one week away, and are looking forward to continuing it all the way through July 31st, when they head over to Europe to begin the European leg.

Tim McIlrath, frontman of Rise Against, has another reason to look forward to the tour: his dream of touring with Rancid has come true! McIlrath says of searching for a touring partner that they really tried “not to bring out the same old kind of show where we headline and then have a band that’s smaller than us open.” With Rancid along for the ride, fans are in for what looks to be a double head-liner tour, lasting two months in North America.

The tour starts off at the Pacific Colliseum in Vancouver, BC on June 4th and will continue for another 35 shows, ending at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto, ON. Rise Against tickets are already on sale for this fast approaching tour, so get yours today!

Depeche Mode tour dates finally set in stone

After suffering a severe case of gastroenteritis, frontman Dave Gahan was hospitalized, and Depeche Mode was forced to cancel a series of shows on the European leg of their current tour. While hospitalized, further tests were done on Gahan, revealing a malignant tumor on his bladder. Despite the initial scare, doctors were able to successfully remove the tumor, and Gahan is said to recover quickly.

How does this affect the remaining tour dates? Well, the doctors advised Gahan to rest until June 8th, meaning all scheduled shows up until that time will be either cancelled or rescheduled. So far the band’s show on May 30th in London has been postponed and set to be rescheduled, whereas their May 31st show in Landgraaf has simply been cancelled. The June 2nd show in Hamburg has been rescheduled to July 1st, and the June 4th and 5th shows in Dusseldorf will be rescheduled for a later date.

The June 7th show in Leipzig has been cancelled, although ticket holders have the option of redeeming them for the June 8th show — which will be the first show back for the group — which also takes place in Leipzig. Lastly, the July 2nd show in Bergen, Norway at the Koengen has been reshceduled for January 28th at the Vestlandhallen.
