Yankees Hopeful in Game 6

yankees

The New York Yankees are set to face the Texas Rangers in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series tonight at Rangers Ballpark.

The Rangers will be hungry for revenge after a decisive 7-2 defeat by the Yankees on Tuesday night at the new Yankee Stadium. In a do-or-die situation, the Yankees were able to pull off a win that kept them in contention for the World Series. Now as the series moves to Texas for Game 6 and potentially Game 7, they face an uphill battle.

For Yankees fans seeing a team rise through the ashes is not something new. Many may remember the 2004 ALCS where the Yankees won the first 3 games of the series only to have the Boston Red Sox become the first major league team to rebound from a postseason 3-0 deficit.

Game 6 will see a repeat of Game 2 aces Phil Hughes for the Yankees and Colby Lewis for the Rangers. Read More

Battle of the Aces for NLCS

pitchers2Last night marked a big win for the San Francisco Giant against the Philadelphia Phillies in game four of the National League Championship Series.

The Giants scraped by the Phillies with a sacrifice fly to left field off of Phillies’ reliever Roy Oswalt to bring Aubrey Huff home. Aubrey had hit a single earlier in the inning, and made it to third off of a single by Buster Posey.

“I got butterflies,” winning pitcher Brian Wilson said. “I got anxiety. I got a mini-ulcer developing, but it’s all worth it. We never lost focus.”

The win brings the Giants one win away from the World Series. Tonight’s Game 5 will see some of the MLB’s finest pitchers battle it out.
