“Share it Maybe” with Cookie Monster?

You’d have to live under a pretty big rock to not have heard – and be able to un-hear – Carly Rae Jepsen’s ridiculously-catchy single “Call Me Maybe”. It’s still up right up the top of the radio charts, and the official music video has garnered well over 15 million views.

Well you can chalk up another cover of the song to add to the collection that’s currently floating out there on YouTube (in company with Justin Bieber, the Miami Dolphins cheerleading squad, U.S. President Obama…it’s a big club!). Cookie Monster of Sesame Street has chipped in (pun intended) with his version of the song:

Cute and creative? Or should the song be put to bed already?

Of course, Carly Rae Jepsen has a lot more to offer than just her one single. Her second album Curiosity was released earlier this February, and she’ll be accompanying Justin Bieber on his BELIEVE tour that kicks off this September, starting in Glendale, Arizona. Tickets to all their concert dates can be purchased through ShowTimeTickets.com.

“Time to Move On” – Roberto Luongo good as gone from Vancouver

By Kat

It’s been one of the biggest give-ins in the NHL since Cory Schneider started Game 4 in the Canucks’ first-round playoff series against the LA Kings, but Roberto Luongo’s departure looks as inevitable as ever. In an interview with Vancouver’s CFOX radio station this morning, the man himself spoke of his future in no uncertain terms by stating the following:

“At the end of the day, it’s time to move on and I’m okay with that. I had a great six years in Vancouver. I think it’s a wonderful city, I really enjoyed my time there. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to bring a Stanley Cup there, which was probably my biggest regret. But it will be remembered for six great years.” Source: TSN.ca

With his remarks this morning on CFOX radio, Roberto Luongo essentially waved goodbye to Vancouver.

Van Halen officially cancels its postponed shows

By Kat

After postponing their tour gigs after June 26 back in May, it appears the plug has finally been pulled on Van Halen for this year.

The Rolling Stone reports that Ticketmaster is listing many of the remaining dates as canceled:

After postponing all tour dates after June 26th, Van Halen has now canceled those shows, reports Pollstar.com. The band has not announced the cancelations on their site, but Pollstar notes many of the tour dates after June 26th are listed in red as canceled on Ticketmaster, including tour stops in Baltimore, Detroit, Memphis, Sacramento and Milwaukee. Refunds are reportedly available at the point of sale.

There are conflicting reports that the band members were embroiled in conflict with each other. At any rate, it’s an anticlimatic end to what had been a somewhat disappointing tour – concerts had received mixed reviews, which commonly targeted David Lee Roth’s performance at the age of 56.

Do you think it’s the end of the line for Van Halen?
