Seahawks Make Changes in Off-season

seahawksThe Seattle Seahawks signed Golden Tate today. The talented second-round pick will play for Seattle under a $3.26 million dollar, four-year contract. Tate was a standout player for Notre Dame. He led the country last year as top wide receiver.
This is an exciting day for Seahawks fans and for the player himself. In Tate’s own words via Twitter this morning, “Praise God!!! Terms and conditions have been reached for the Seattle Seahawks! Let’s play ball!… Today has been such a blessing and a dream come true! But the best is yet to come!”
In other Hawks news, Russell Okung, starting left tackle from Oklahoma State, can’t seem to make it onto the field. Okung was the sixth overall draft pick. His agent, Peter Schaffer, told The Associated Press that he is doing everything he can to make sure Okung is on the field by Saturday, day one of the Seahawks’ training camp.
The Seahawks have made significant changes on and off the field. New head coach, Pete Carroll brings some much needed enthusiasm to the team. Since he took the reigns in January, he has traded, drafted, and brought in over fifty players. Seahawks supporters are hoping that this overhaul, among other major changes (new GM, John Schneider) will improve the team’s chances in the NFC West.
