World Series Battle of the Aces

WorldSeriesThe 2010 World Series run has been called by many the Battle of the Aces. With the San Francisco Giants defeating the Philadelphia Phillies over the weekend we saw one Cy Young winner, Roy Halladay, defeated by another two time winner, Tim Lincecum. Now, who better to take the mound against Tim “the Freak” Lincecum in Game 1 of the World Series than another Cy Young Winning, Cliff Lee for the Texas Rangers.

The 2008 Cy Young winner Cliff Lee, has made a name for himself as one of the MLB’s best all time postseason pitchers with a 7-0 record and a 1.26 ERA in eight career post season starts. He has allowed just 2 earned runs over 24 innings this postseason.

Meanwhile, 26 year old Tim Lincecum has earned the respect of many MLB fans with the 98 mph fast ball he is able to generate with his slight 170 lb build as well as his deadly changeup, earning him two Cy Young awards. Read More
