Olympic Slalom Yet to Come

bode millerWith only four alpine skiing races left, the giant slalom and slalom will be the last chance for 2010 Olympic skiers to medal.
American skier, Bode Miller, has a lot riding on the final events. He is one podium away from an alpine Olympic record of four medals won in a single Winter Games.
Bode Miller has had a very publicized career. He is fairly unpopular with mainstream media, and is known as a bit of a wild card.
Regardless of his likeability though, he is an extremely talented skier. Miller has been skiing on the World Cup Circuit for over a decade. He has thirty-two World Cup victories, making him the most successful American alpine skier ever.
Miller medaled in the giant slalom back in 2002, so the record-setting challenge is certainly within reach.
Miller has exhibited a more mature take on the Winter Games this time around. He seems more appreciative of his athletic position. In an emotional statement to the press after the men’s combined competition, he said, “To execute the race the way I did today is something I will be proud of for the rest of my life.”
