101st Grey Cup Tickets to go on lottery

If you don’t already have your tickets for the 101st Grey Cup in Regina, Saskatchewan, the remaining 5,000 unallocated tickets are set to go on lottery. The championship game will take place November 24th, 2013 at Mosaic Stadium in front of an estimated 45,000 fans in Rider Nation.
According to Neil Donnelly – executive director of the Grey Cup Festival – approximately 95% of season ticket holders opted to purchase Grey Cup tickets.
Donnelly was also quoted from the Leader Post in Regina, SK:

“It shows the amount of support that we have in Saskatchewan for anything to do with the Riders. The season-ticket base is so high here and you have obligations with other teams and the league and sponsors, it just left such little inventory for us to sell to the general public that we felt we wanted to take what we had and do it in the most fair way we could.”

Details for the 101st Grey Cup festivities are starting to filter in, with Saskatoon-based band The Sheepdogs announced as a headline concert for Grey Cup week.

With the last regular season CFL games this past weekend, the 2010 Playoff teams are now set. The regular season concluded with the Montreal Alouettes and Calgary Stampeders taking decisive leads, while the BC Lions squeaked in thanks to a loss by the Edmonton Eskimos and a final game victory over the Hamilton Tiger-cats.

ShowTimeTickets.com has tickets to the 98th Grey Cup in Edmonton, but the event has been sold out for months. If the upsets, underdog victories, and action-packed performances from the regular season continues onto the post-season, the run for the Cup will be hotly contested.

The BC Lions fought tooth and nail at the end of the season to secure a playoff run. After a turnaround part way through the season, the Lions have been 7-3 down the final stretch and a late game 23-21 win they have all the momentum they need to make an interesting run in the playoffs. The first BC Lions CFL Semi Final of the year is scheduled to be played against the Roughriders this Sunday. Read More
