Whitecaps Play Historic First

Tomorrow marks the first ever MLS competition for the Vancouver Whitecaps, as they take on Toronto FC at Empire Field.
Two years ago today, it was announced that the Whitecaps would join the major league. The team and the city have undergone heavy renovations since then.
Vancouver’s BC Place, the future home for the Whitecaps, is receiving a face-lift. When finished, the facility will boast a cable-supported retractable roof and increased and upgraded club seating.
The team itself made changes too. Along with exciting new staff members, such as former D.C. United head coach, Tom Soehn, the team has recruited a lot of talent, like Jay DeMerit, Davide Chiumiento, and Eric Hassli.
Team CEO, Paul Barber stated. “We look forward to seeing a sea of white and hearing the chants and cheers that will make Empire Field an intimidating environment for all opponents.”
