Through the use of velour banners and curtains, the acoustics of the Winspear Center can be used to control the level of reverb in the room.

The Francis Winspear Center was named after Dr. Francis G. Winspear, who contributed $6 million to its construction - the single largest private donation to a performing arts facility in Canadian history.

The Davis Concert Organ was installed at the Center in 2002, a pipe organ named after Dr. Stuart Davis for his generosity and in memory of his late wife Winona.
