Lions and Eskimos Fight for Final Playoff Spot

evt7250_grey_cupThis year’s CFL season has seen many of last year’s prominent teams, such as the Montreal Alouettes and the the Calgary Stampeders, continue to dominate. Still, there is a lot to be said about this season’s underdog teams, many with horrible starts to the season, clawing their way back into playoff contention.
All eyes are on the surprising final pushes from the Edmonton Eskimos and the BC Lions for the final 2010 CFL playoff position. Both teams started the season with horrible records.
The Eskimos started with a league worst 2-9. After a major reshuffling, the hiring of 14 new guys and a change in game plan, the Eskimos are now one of the CFL’s hottest teams, having won five of their last six games.
Meanwhile the Lions need a win against the Hamilton Tigercats and an Edmonton loss to slide into the final playoff position. The Lions started the season 1-7. For the first half of the season, they looked as though this year would be the first in 14 that they would not make the playoffs. But a late game touchdown for a big win against the Saskatchewan Roughriders this past weekend kept their playoff hopes alive, and proved that anything can happen for this Lions team.
The CFL games this weekend will highlight some new talent and bring back old rivalries. A notable game will be the Toronto Argonauts as they face the defending Grey Cup Champions, the Montreal Alouettes. After a final play touchdown by the Alouettes last weekend to win the game 37-30, the Argonauts will be hungry for revenge.
The 98th CFL Grey Cup championship trophy is on the line. The Grey Cup will be held November 28th at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton. Don’t miss your team playing for the cup! Get your Grey Cup tickets here or call ShowTimeTickets.com at 1-800-480-7469. We are never sold out!
