Big Daddy Kane is an American rapper who was once part of the group Juice Crew. He became active in the music industry in 1984 and has peaked at number four on the US Hip-Hop Albums chart with "It's a Bid Daddy Thing". In 1989, he reached the top of the US Rap charts with "Smooth Operator".
He has performed with Quincy Jones and Prince Paul and Big Daddy Kane is regarded as one of the most skilful MC's in the hip hop industry. He has released albums under the Cold Chillin', MCA and Mercury labels.
