1925 - Sports fan Tim Mara paid $500 for an NFL franchise which he named the Giants.
1927 - The Giants win their first league championship with legendary halfback Jim Thorpe leading the team.
1934 - The Giants win the NFL Championship Game against the Chicago Bears.
1938 - The Giants win the NFL Championship Game against the Green Bay Packers.
1961 - Receiver Del Shofner breaks the 1000-yard mark for yardage. He goes on to repeat this record in the 62' and 63' seasons.
1976 - The Giants abandon their former playing grounds of the Yale Bowl in Connecticut and Shea Stadium in New York City for the deluxe confines of Giants Stadium.
1987 - The Giants win Super Bowl XXI, defeating the Broncos 39-20.
1991 - The Giants win Super Bowl XXV against the Buffalo Bills 20-19.
2001 - The Giants smash the Baltimore Ravens 34-7, winning Super Bowl XXXV.
