The hip-hop duo, OutKast, originated in Georgia during the early 90's. Originally known as Two Shades Deep, they changed their name to OutKast prior to the 1994 release of their debut album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. Together, Andre 3000 and Big Boi are heralded as founders of the southern hip-hop movement and are a staple in the genre. Their Grammy Award-winnings and nominations are the result of such hits as "Ms. Jackson," "Rosa Parks" and "Hey Ya!"
After their last album, Idlewild, Andre 3000 and Big Boi continue to perform live, both as OutKast and as solo acts.
