Adele is the stage name for Adele Adkins, a British soul singer and songwriter. She debuted in 2008 with the album, 19, which lead the charts in the U.K. with the single, "Chasing Pavements."
Adele won the Grammy Award for "Best New Artist" in 2009. She released her sophomore album, 21, in 2011. It has set the record for the longest running consecutive number-one studio album on the U.K. charts.
