In 1995, at the age of twenty-one, Alanis Morissette released her first international album, Jagged Little Pill. It was a phenomenal success. The album was nominated for six Grammy Awards. At the 1996 ceremony, Alanis Morissette performed a moving rendition of "You Oughta Know", one that all but drained the anger from the song, leaving only an air of sorrow and remorse. That night, she won awards for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Album, and the big one, Best Album.
In several articles, it has been said (including statements by Alanis Morissette herself) that a new album is in the works. The sound is rumored to be more "exotic."
