Sammy Hagar

Sam Roy Hagar, born in '47, is an American rock singer, guitarist and songwriter. Sometimes called the "Red Rocker," he first worked with the band "Montrose" before going solo. His first solo hit came in '84 with "I Can't Drive 55."

Hagar later became the singer for Van Halen, and was inducted into the '07 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame through that association. On the side, he created a brand of Tequila and a restaurant chain. By '05, he was playing again with the "Waboritas" and formed a new group, "Chickenfoot," scoring a #4 with the self-titled first album.
