Curtains Tickets

Curtains is the final musical by songwriting duo John Kander and Fred Ebb. The musical comedy had its premiere at the Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre on July 25, 2006 in Los Angeles. David Hyde Pierce, of the television show Frasier, and Debra Monk starred in the production's debut.

Curtains is set in Boston in 1959. The storyline follows the tryout for a pre-Broadway musical where it's literally 'curtains' for the leading lady who dies mysteriously onstage during the applause at the end of the show. The murder mystery of Curtains sees the entire cast - the producer, the songwriters, the director, the actors, the stage manager - all as possible suspects. Each character has a motive that's left to be sorted out by a local detective.
