Christina Aguilera Tickets Continued
Christina Aguilera (born December 18, 1980) is an American pop singer. Also
known as Xtina, she is most notable for her vocal abilities as well as her unorthodox fashion
sense. Her vocal skills have been compared to those of singers such as Mariah
Carey and Whitney
Houston. Christina Aguilera has been classified as a spinto soprano and she has
a 4 octave range. She has achieved four number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart,
as well as two top five albums in the United States. Christina Aguilera is now married to
record executive Jordan Bratman.
Christina Aguilera was one of several U.S. teen pop stars to rise to huge popular
acclaim in the late 90s. Of Irish and Ecuadorian descent, her mother played violin and piano
professionally while her father's position in the military resulted in the family travelling
extensively around the world. Bursting onto the musical landscape in 1999, Christina
Aguilera's highly successful self-titled debut album went on to sell over 16 million copies.
With its string of chart toppers, Christina Aguilera earned numerous accolades
including a Grammy award from Best New Artist. The following year, Christina Aguilera
earned her second Grammy for her Spanish language album Mi Reflejo. In 2001, she
joined forces with Lil' Kim, Mya, Pink and Missy Elliott
for the hit single "Lady Marmalade" and was honoured with a Grammy for Best Pop
Collaboration.
In October 2002, after much delay, Christina Aguilera's second full-length English
album, Stripped, was released. The majority of Stripped was co-written by
Christina Aguilera, and was influenced by many different subjects and music styles,
including rhythm and blues, gospel, soul, balladry, pop rock, hip-hop and jazz. The album was
not received as well as her debut by most critics, and Christina Aguilera's vocals were
overlooked as she began to cultivate a more sexually provocative image.
In 2006, Christina Aguilera is back in fine form with her latest album Back to
Basics. The new album feature singles including "Ain't No Other Man" and "Hurt".
Christina Aguilera will tour both Europe and North America in support of the album.
