Although Eric Clapton's musical style has varied throughout his career, it has always remained rooted in the Blues. Clapton is credited as an innovator in several phases of his career, which have included Blues-Rock (with John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers and The Yardbirds) and Hard Rock (with Cream). The close friendship between Eric Clapton and George Harrison also resulted in Clapton playing on Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" from the Beatles' White Album. In November 2002, Eric Clapton masterminded The Concert for George, a star-studded tribute to George Harrison at the Royal Albert Hall, featuring Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty, amongst others.
