More about Nickelback.
Awesome show. It wasn't only Nickelback that put on a great show but also Shinedown. Had a blast.
Nickelback was amazing, the sound was crystal clear, they played Photograph, Rockstar, When We Stand Together, I could list the entire playlist but you will have to go and find out for yourself. These guys have amazing energy and sound. They seemed to be taking a break after about 3 songs but wound up having another stage set up on the floor and played a few songs on it. This allowed the fans at the back of the arena to have a front row seat for a few songs. It was fantastic, the second stage raised into the air as well. I have been to many, many concerts but Nickelback was one of the best. I also thought My Darkest Days are a great up and coming band, they have a good sound. Seether, another fantastic band, these guys did not stop playing music for their entire set I loved these guys! Bush, another great band, fantastic vocals worth listening too. A shout out to ShowTime Tickets!! I will never purchase my tickets anywhere else. I had fantastic seats, great service on the internet, awesome reminders as the event came closer and on the day of the event reminder email gave me the start times of each band. Invaluable info since the concert started an hour earlier than I expected and without the reminder notice I would have missed My Darkest Days and most of Seether!!
Nickelback Information Continued
Nickelback's frontman, Chad Kroeger, is the dominant element; his vocals sustain the songs through verse and hook. The result is radio friendly hard rock with no frills; save some dubbing in a few of their songs for dramatic effect ("Figured You Out").
As with many bands, Nickelback's lyrics deal mostly with either acquirring romance, the loss of romance or the transition between love and hate in relationships. Earlier albums included songs discussing problems many can relate to, such as parental desertion and domestic abuse. The context provided in Nickelback's songs also make it easy to create a mental picture of the subject matter; they seldom if ever speak metaphorically.
The album Silver Side Up, with 2002's most-played single "How You Remind Me", was released on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. On that morning, they were on their tour bus traveling across Pennsylvania less than 10 miles from where United Airlines Flight 93 crashed.
