Queen also paved the way for the commercial music video, having promoted their 1975 hit "Bohemian Rhapsody" with a conceptual promo released worldwide, which many have debated to be the first true music video.

Much like their music, the collection of bands influenced by Queen is quite diverse. Bands that cite Queen as an influence include Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motley Crue, Guns N' Roses, Def Leppard, Metallica, Steve Vai, Trent Reznor, Robbie Williams, George Michael, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Muse, The Darkness, Franz Ferdinand and Joan Osborne, among many others.

In March 2006, Queen and Paul Rodgers set out to tour the US and Canada.
